PRIZE 2017

The winner or winning team of the Basque Country Regional Prize 2017 will be offered a complete 12-month incubation programme at any of the BICs in the Basque Country. The programme will include the following services:

  • Expert strategic consulting and auxiliary services covering IPR, market analysis, due diligence, and more
  • Support in developing a business plan / feasibility study
  • Business coaching
  • Access to office infrastructure (PCs, Internet, phone, fax, meeting rooms, teleconference equipment, etc.)
  • Access to public-private funding (venture capital, business angels, etc.)
  • Travel and accommodation expenses for the ESNC Awards Ceremony  2017
  • Access to public funding for supporting innovative entrepreneurs

    Department of Economic Development and Infrastructures of the Basque Government

    The Department of Economic Development and Infrastructures of the Basque Government boosts the participation of Basque projects in the international European Satellite Navigation Competition.

    To that end, with the help of the SPRI agency and the Basque Country BIC network, the Information Society Division coordinates the organisation of the competition in Euskadi and sets a regional prize.

    The Basque Country BIC network with each BIC of the network providing similar services to its incubatees, ensures that entrepreneurs and startups get the support they need to boost their business to the next level in each Basque province. The BIC network builds a driving force behind the new business projects that are joining the Basque Country’s existing production resources and networking systems.

    BIC Araba

    BIC Araba is a driving force behind the new business projects that are joining the Basque Country’s existing production resources and networking systems.

    BIC Araba is a joint venture between the Basque Government through SPRI, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Town Hall and the Alava Regional Government.

    BIC ARABA, Centro de Empresas e Innovación de Alava, S.A. has been providing services to help entrepreneurs and businesses promote entrepreneurial initiatives and foster development ever since it was founded in 1988. Nowadays, BIC ARABA is a driving force behind the new business projects that are joining the region’s existing production resources and networking systems. The BIC’s goal is to help new projects face the future with the maximum guarantees for success, through a commitment to innovation and competitiveness.

    BIC Bizkaia

    BIC Bizkaia is a specialised incubator focused on sectors with high potential for generating advanced knowledge and ability to multiply economic activity.

    Operating since October 2014, BIC Bizkaia is an incubator with more than 6,000 m2 on two floors nowadays.  One of its main objectives is to generate the maximum synergy by combining projects and companies in different states. BIC Bizkaia is specialised in hosting projects and companies from the advanced manufacturing, clean technologies, biotechnology, microtechnology and nanotechnology sectors.

    BIC Bizkaia - Ezkerraldea

    The main purpose of BIC Bizkaia Ezkerraldea is to support the establishing, diversification and consolidation of businesses with a view to generating wealth and employment on the Left Bank (Ezkerraldea) and in the Mining District (Meatzaldea).

    BIC Bizkaia Ezkerraldea operates the Ilgner Business Incubator, a historical location that has been completely renovated and that features 54 business modules covering an area of 2,500 m2. It includes communal areas, such as an assembly hall, training classrooms, meeting rooms, entrepreneurship halls and a car park. The Ilgner incubator is currently home to 25 innovative businesses.

    Bic Bizkaia Ezkerraldea has the support of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Basque Government, through the Basque Agency for Enterprise Development, SPRI, which, as partners of the entity, place all their aid programmes as the disposal of entrepreneurs and businesses.

    BIC Gipuzkoa

    BIC Gipuzkoa acts as facilitator in the process of creating new, innovative businesses, as well as as an active agent in the support and promotion of entrepreneurial culture in Gipuzkoa.

    Since its creation in 1993, the BIC Gipuzkoa has become an important engine in regional development, with capacity to anticipate, adapt and respond to the concrete needs of new entrepreneurs and businesses in Gipuzkoa, inspiring innovation, qualification and consolidation of the business activity of its geographic surroundings, and in extensive collaboration with the Technology Centres, Private and Public Institutions and Universties.

    European Commission

    The prize pool is co-financed by the European Commission’s DG Grow. The aim of the “E-GNSS Accelerator” is to foster the market uptake of Galileo/EGNOS and high technologies in EU28, the EEA and ENP countries.
